Abstract

1298273 Flexibletube pumps WEHRLEWERK A G 5 March 1970 [8 March 1969] 10709/70 Heading F1F A flexible-hose pump comprises a cylindrical casing 1, Fig.1, and a screw-threaded cap 2 removably attached thereto having a cylindrical inner surface 3 against which a flexible tube 4 is pressed by a plurality of sequentially operated fingers 6 arranged in a circle and carried by a rubber disc (24) Fig.4 (not shown) which is supported on a shaft 13 driven by a motor or engine. The shaft 13 beyond a shoulder 14 is formed with an eccentric shaft 15 screw-threaded attached to a sleeve 16 which is axially adjustable by a knob 19 to axially move a roller 18, which engages the fingers 6, in accordance with the wall thickness of the tube 4 and to enhance the life of the tube. The knob 19 and cap 2 are enclosed in a protective transparent plastics membrane 32 to allow adjustment of the knob whilst still retaining a seal. The screw-threaded cap permits easy renewal of the tube 4 and sterilizing of the pump parts.
