The high pressure, exchanger feed heater, 18, is supplied with steam through the valve, 20, which is automatically closed, progressively, as the load on turbine 8, 10, 11 is increased. The high pressure turbine 8 is supplied directly from the superheater, 4, and exhausts into the intermediate turbine, 10, through the reheater, 5. The low pressure turbine, 11, is supplied from turbine 10 and exhausts into the condenser 12, deaerator 16 and boiler feed pump 17. From pump 17, feed water flows back into the evaporator, 3, of the exchanger, 2.
