Abstract

1297930 Platform elevators; dock levellers L MENON and C MENON 4 Dec 1969 59332/69 Headings B8E B8H and B8J A vertically adjustable platform 1a is mounted in a pit to lift or lower a motor vehicle (not shown) to make easier its loading and unloading. Threaded rods 3 are received in threaded sleeves 10 attached to the platform 1a and are rotated by a central transmission unit 5, driven by an electric motor 7, through shafts 6 and driving means 4 to raise and lower the platform 1a. Safety-electro mechanical devices 8 are connected between end pairs of the rods 3 and switch off the current if rotational speed differences occur between the rods 3. In an alternative embodiment, Fig. 3 (not shown), the rods 3 reciprocate with the platform (1).
