Abstract

1297792 Scaffold clamps; scaffold joints E CROWLEY 6 July 1970 [12 Aug 1969] 40193/ 69 Headings E1S and E2B A joint for connecting together a pair of tubular scaffolding members 10, 11, comprises a bracket of angle-shaped section connected to the exterior of the member 10 so as to project outwardly therefrom in a direction transverse to the length of the member, one flange 12a of the bracket having a threaded aperture 17 receiving a bolt 16, the other member 11 having a flattened end 11a in which is formed a slot 15 extending in a direction transverse to the length of the member 10. The two members are arranged in mutually transverse relationship with the edge of the flattened end engaging the other flange 12b of the bracket the bolt extending through the slot 15 and into threaded engagement with the hole to clamp the flattened end against the flange 12a. That part of the shank of the bolt adjacent the head thereof may be frusto-conical.
