Abstract
1297442 Presser foot R B HOWELL 25 Feb 1970 9000/70 Heading D1G A presser foot assembly comprises a foot part 16 having an elongated member 50 cooperating with a block 54 connectable with a shank 18. The member 15 may be plain and frictionally engaged with the block or a threaded connection as shown may be provided, allowing the foot to be adjusted laterally relatively to the shank. Indicia 98 are provided on the foot. The joint 30, 32 between block and shank may be horizontal instead of vertical, as shown. A clearance beneath the block permits pitching of the foot. The shank as shown is provided with two slots 26, 28 and may be reversed as appropriate to the particular needle bar 12. Other shanks for connection with other presser bars may be provided (Figs. 4 and 5 not shown). The presser foot is provided with rollers 76, 77, 78 provided with work guiding grooves and may be employed for stitching zip fasteners (Fig. 6, not shown). The front roller may be detachable (Fig. 7 not shown).
