1297360 Sanitising composition comprising lithium hypochlorite WEST LABORATORIES Inc 27 Oct 1969 [8 Sept 1969] 32289/72 Divided out of 1296221 Heading ASE A sanitising composition which can be dissolved in water to provide a sanitising solution contains lithium hypochlorite in such an amount as to provide the solution with an available chlorine content of from 0.01 to 1% by weight, a reducing agent being an organic compound having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms each of which is either oxidised or bonded to a carbon atom which is oxidised to form a group of the formula -COOX, -CHO, -CH 2 OH, or =C=O (X being H or a saltforming cation) in such an amount that the solution contains from 0.01 to 5% W/V thereof, and a buffering agent in such an amount that the sanitising solution has a pH of from 4 to 10.
