Abstract
1297175 Flame retardant polyamide moulding compositions WELLMAN Inc 3 Nov 1970 [29 June 1970] 52188/70 Heading C3R A flame-retardant moulding composition consists essentially of a polyamide, a fireretardant cycloaliphatie halide, a metal oxide and 5 to 60 wt. per cent of discrete solid glass beads of average diameter 5 to 100 microns. Small amounts of other additives, e.g. glass fibre filler, pigments or lubricants may also be present. In examples the polyamide is nylon 66 or a mixture thereof with nylon 6; the halide is the dimer of hexachlorocyclopentadiene; the oxide is Sb 2 O 3 , Fe 2 O 3 or ZnO; the beads are of 10 to 50 micron diameter; and other additives are 0À11% sodium stearate or 5À49% glass fibres. Reference is made to Specification 1,208,865 having regard to Section 9.
