Abstract
1297160 Bearing rails in concrete CIMENTERIES CBR CEMENTBEDRIJVEN 19 Nov 1969 [22 Nov 1968] 56722/69 Headings E1S and E1W Bearing rails for securing devices to concrete are formed by embedding in the concrete during casting an elongate member 1 having a boundary surface 4 adjacent the concrete including two lateral surfaces 9 which taper towards the external surface over at least part of their width each lateral surface having at least a portion sloping at a rate of 1:4 per length normal to the outer surface, said member being formed throughout of a low density non-corrodible material and formed such that part of said member may be readily removed from the channel. The member may be hollow with trapezoidal section and formed of aluminium or plastics with weakening grooves in the outer face 3 or a clip-in outer face (14) Fig. 3 (not shown) may be provided. Alternatively the member may be formed of expanded polystyrene and may be a trapezoidal section prism or may be formed with part circular or elliptical cross section.
