Abstract
1297099 Grooved tubes ELECTROLUX Ltd 19 April 1971 [10 March 1970 28 May 1970] 23080/71 Heading F2P [Also in Division F4] Heat transfer conduits 21 (of absorption refrigerating apparatus) have preferably capillary grooves 22 approximately square in section at angle α to the generatrix 23 of the conduit. The conduit 21 is disposed at angle # to the horizontal 24 and preferably angle α is about 6 degrees and # about 10 degrees. In other enbodiments, the grooves form a fish-bone pattern, the vertices of the angles at the centre line of the portion being directed against the flow direction in the conduit. Alternatively indentations may be formed in the upper portion of the conduit which form drip points, with indentations in the lower portion forming pools to catch the drops.
