Specified grains are of Al 2 O 3 ; MgO; MgO.Al 2 O 3 ; ZrO 2 ; 2Al 2 O 3 .3MgO; optionals are clay, SiO 2 (which forms mullite with Al 2 O 3 grains), MgO (which forms spinel with Al 2 O 3 ). Not all the grains need be coated, and an organic plasticizer can be included.
