Abstract

1296118 Projectile fuzes DYNAMIT NOBEL AG 29 May 1970 [30 May 1969] 26076/70 Heading F3A A percussion fuze for a hollow charge projectile comprises an electrically ignitable primer composition 8, a piezoelectric transducer 5 in which impact energy is converted into an electric voltage to ignite the primer composition and, connecting the primer composition to the piezoelectric transducer, an electric semiconductor element 5 having threshold valve action, whereby when the voltage exceeds the threshold valve of the element, an electric circuit is completed and the primer composition is ignited. A metallic anvil 2 and a contact plate 6 are provided electrically insulating elements 3 act as the dielectric of condensers formed between casing 4 and anvil 2, and between the casing 4, the plate 6 and the composition 8. The semi-conductor element is a diode. The composition 8 is electrically conductive.
