Abstract

1295953 Rotary fluid actuators IPARI SZERELVENY ES G•PGY‡R 6 Oct 1970 [8 Oct 1969] 47351/70 Heading F1F A rotary fluid actuator, particularly for actuating a shut-off valve in a fluid-flow system, comprises a closed housing 1, Fig. 1, having a part cylindrical surface 2, two or more but always an even number of resilient hoses 3, and at least three freely rotatable rollers 12 equiangularly mounted on a disc 10 fixed to a tubular shaft 9 which is operatively connected to means to open and close the valve. Pressure fluid admitted through 4, e.g. the bottom left-hand tube and the top right-hand tube acts on the respective rollers 12 to rotate the disc 10 and shaft 9 in a clockwise direction. Both rollers or at times one roller applies turning moment to the shaft 9. A minimum of three rollers is necessary to ensure that at all times torque is applied to the shaft.
