Abstract
1295683 Ionization detectors ORSZAGOS RONTGEN ES SUGARFIZIKAI INTEZET 29 Dec 1969 [29 Dec 1968] 63131/69 Heading HID A gas-filled radiation detector comprises two parallel planar electrodes 1, 2, two interdigited sets of interconnected linear conductors 3, 4, a potential divider 5, 6 connected between the electrodes 1, 2 with a tapping to one of the conductor sets 3 and a switch 9 operable to connect the electrodes together. A potential source 10, 11 is connected across divider 5, 6 and electrodes 4 are earthed. Radiation causes current flow to electrodes 4 only when switch 9 connects electrodes 1, 2 together; when they are at different potentials little or no current flows. The detector is used with radiographic apparatus for determining exposure times. Two or more detectors may be coupled together to measure the intensity of radiation falling on different areas of a radiographic plate.
