Abstract

129,544. Nicholson, A. C. Nov. 6, 1918. Couplings for tractors.-Draw-bar couplings for adjustably attaching agricultural machines or implements to tractors are provided with two independent vertical adjustments, one for setting the height of the hitching link R to suit the height of the tractor draw-bar W from the ground, and the other for setting the height of the framework U of the machine from the ground. A swivelling motion is provided between the draw-bar attachment R and the attachment at the head A of the machine, and by means of the insertion of the pin P to lock the worm L to the tube B the swivelling may be rendered inoperative. A spring plunger F secures the tube B in the desired position by engaging in a hole E in the key C. The bar K passes through the tube B, and is free to rotate in it until locked by the pin P, and has arms L, M secured to it. In a modified construction, the hitching link R and the head A are adjusted vertically by screws.
