1295435 Rubber compositions containing graphitic carbon BRITISH PETROLEUM CO Ltd 27 Nov 1969 [27 Nov 1968] 56307/68 Headings C3P and C3Q A composition comprises a natural or synthetic rubber having compounded therein graphitic carbon having a surface area of at least 300 square metres per gram and a heat of adsorption of n-dotriacontane from n-heptane of at least 2 calories per gram and a heat of adsorption of n-butanol from n-heptane of less than 1 calorie per gram. The rubbers include ethylene-propylene terpolymers and styrenebutadiene rubber. The compositions may include oil and conventional vulcanizing ingredients.
