Abstract

1294926 Corrugated tray for fractionating columns NIPPON KOKAN KK 27 Jan 1970 3820/70 Heading B1R A corrugated tray for a fractionating or like column and which is mounted horizontally, one above the other, in a column has crests in the form of liquid receiving channels 4, sides 7 made of a mesh material which are welted by liquid from troughs 4, and troughs 3 with apertures 5 through which liquid collecting in the troughs is fed to the next lower tray. As shown a channel 4 is immediately below a trough 3. The troughs 3 may be imperforate and liquid collecting therein fed to downcomers. In another embodiment each trough has two rows of apertures, one along each side, which supply liquid directly to the mesh sides 7, channels 4 being replaced by members with flat upper surfaces.
