1293203 Vehicle steering mechanisms CAM GEARS Ltd 19 April 1971 [20 March 1970] 13566/70 Heading B7H The ends 10 and 11 of the rack bar of a rack and pinion steering gear are connected to tie rods 12 and 13 by universal couplings 14 and 15. Each end of the rack is received between the arms of U-shaped member 16 the base of which is received between the arms of a bifurcated member 27 attached to a respective tie rod. Pins 25 and 32 passed respectively through the arms of member 16 and the rack bar, and through the arms of member 27 and the central part of member 16, the pins being disposed at right angles to each other, allow movement of the assembled coupling in two orthogonal planes.
