1292814 Jointing by stamping BTR INDUSTRIES Ltd 27 Feb 1970 [6 March 1969] 12017/69 Heading B3Q Apparatus for crimping a tubular workpiece, e.g. a union nut, on to a cylindrical member, e.g. a hose end-fitting, comprises a collet-die 32, a bevel-closing collar 19 the bore of which and/or the external diameter of the collet-die is tapered, a toggle mechanism 21, 22, 25 for operating the collar and means 31, 37 for locating the cylindrical member. A fluid-pressure cylinder 18, for operating the toggle mechanism, is connected to a U-shaped member forming the links 25. The upper links 21, 22 are pivoted on the lower links 25 and are mounted on trunnions (23, 24), Fig. 1 (not shown), on the collar 19 which project through slots in a housing 16.
