Abstract

1292805 Cleansing compositions containing enzyme granules ALBRIGHT & WILSON Ltd 20 Nov 1969 [22 Nov 1968 5 Aug 1969] 55594/68 and 39259/69 Heading C5D Enzyme-containing granules are prepared by forming a homogeneous dispersion of a powdered enzyme, together with 0-95% of a particulate builder salt, in an anionic or non- ionic detergent which is a liquid or is formed into a liquid or paste, and producing granules therefrom. The liquid or paste is formed by melting the detergent or adding water or other volatile solvent to the detergent. The granules are produced by spray-cooling or spray-drying fluid dispersions of active ingredients, or by plodding pasty dispersions. A hydrotrope such as an alkali metal or ammonium salt of a C 1 -C 5 alkyl benzene sulphonic acid may be present. The builder may be inorganic (e.g. sodium tripolyphosphate) or organic (e.g. sodium nitrilotriacetate). Optional ingredients are bleaches such as sodium perborate and other conventional constituents of washing powders in which the enzyme granules may be incorporated.
