Abstract

1292555 Ships' hull construction MITSUI SHIPBUILDING & ENG CO Ltd 15 Jan 1971 [4 Sept 1970] 2014/71 Heading B7S [Also in Division B8] A prefabricated section 12 of a ship's hull is transferred to a dock 6 by tilting it over the edge of the dock and lowering it. Initially the section 12 is fabricated on its side with a line normal to the deck horizontal, so that tilting as shown brings it to its operative position. The tilting may be effected using a pivoted table 7 and rams 9, 10, 11.
