When the stack 24 is depleted, striker element 76 which bears against the stack is operated to cause motor 36 to rotate through 90 degrees of movement. The motor engages bar 28 at 37 and moves within the slot 38 formed in bar 28 so that the bar moves horizontally rightwards and engages latch member 45 pivoted at 47 to release the platform 19 pivoted at 12 so that stack 26 slides downwards to the right into the position of stack 24. When the latter stack is again depleted, striker element 76 again operates and motor 36 again performs a movement of 90 degrees to cause the bar 28 to move leftwards. This engages latch member 46 and moves it leftwards to free platform 20 which pivots to release stack 25 to slide into the position of stack 24. Finally, when the latter stack is depleted, striker element 76 again operates to cause rotation of motor 60 which via cam 72 and link 68 cause arm 63 to move about pivot 62 and push the stack 27 into the position of stack 24.
