1291934 Refractory nitride fibres CARBORUNDUM CO 6 Nov 1970 [25 Nov 1969] 52885/70 Heading C1J A refractory fibre having a maximum diameter of 10Á comprises a nitride of Ti, Nb, Zr, Ta or Hf and 2-10 of boron and is obtained by heating a BN fibre at at least 1100‹ C. in an atmosphere of H 2 and a halide of the desired metal. SiO 2 can also be present.
