Abstract

1289569 Electro-photographic development apparatus GAF CORP 29 Sept 1970 [2 Oct 1969] 46193/70 Headings G2A and G2H An electrostatographic liquid developer apparatus comprises curved upper and lower trays 26, 32 defining an arcuate path for the web (or sheet) to be developed), at least the lower surface of the upper tray being metal (for intensifying development), there being a row of openings 40 in the front wall of the upper tray for continuously delivering liquid developer adjacent the inlet to the arcuate path, the front part 36 of the upper tray being continuously filled with developer, the rear wall of the lower tray having a horizontal row of slots 28 for discharging excess liquid developer. As shown, developer is supplied to the front part 36 by a pump 37, the web is prewet with liquid sprayed through a pipe 24 from a tray 14 using metering and drive rollers 18, 20 and excess developer liquid is removed from the web by squeegees 22, 25 above a tray 16 into which excess liquid developer from slots 28 runs.
