Abstract

1289004 Formamide derivatives BOEHRINGER INGELHEIM GmbH 20 July 1970 [21 July 1969] 35105/70 Heading C2C The invention comprises compounds of the formula wherein X and Y each represents -O-, -S-, -SO- or -SO 2 -; and A represents a straight or branched C 2 -C 10 alkylene which may be interrupted by 1 to 3 O atoms, an S atom, an -SO- or -SO 2 - group; cyclohexylene or optionally substituted phenylene group, the said alkylene group being optionally substituted by 1 or 2 Cl or Br atoms or by a group of formula a cyclohexylene group; or a phenylene group which may be substituted by 1 to 4 halogen atoms, by 1 or 2 (C 1 -C 4 ) alkyl groups or by 1 or 2 (C 1 -C 4 ) alkoxy groups. They may be obtained by reacting a compound of formula with a compound of the formula wherein Z represents a group easily removable as an anion. Compounds wherein X and/or Y represent -SO- or -SO 2 - groups and/or A represents an alkylene group interrupted by an -SO- or -SO 2 - group may be prepared by oxidation of compounds in which X and/or Y represent S atoms and/or wherein the alkylene group is interrupted by an S atom. Examples are given for the preparation of the compounds. The compounds are useful as systemic fungicides. Examples are given of several compositions containing these compounds.
