Abstract

1288957 Furnace linings DIDIER-WERKE AG 20 Oct 1969 [21 Oct 1968] 51421/69 Heading F4B The cavity between an outer steel casing 2 of a spray cooled blast furnace and its inner electrographite brick hearth lining 6, is filled by having a molten aluminium alloy 11 poured into it. Rammed carbon 10 may be inserted in the cavity between casing 2 and upper carbon brick hearth and side wall layers 7, 8. A chamotte hearth lining 9 is provided. The cavity to be filled with the molten metal is from 15 to 20 mm wide and may be segmentally subdivided by inserted metal strips. A further layer of poured metal (not shown) may cover the top of a metallic bottom plate 5 located above the foundation masonry 4, if additional bottom cooling means (not shown) for the furnace are provided.
