Abstract

1288366 Combine harvesters DEERE & CO 13 Nov 1970 [15 Nov 1969] 54140/70 Heading A1F The cleaning device of a combine harvester is fitted with support devices for strengthening purposes. The device comprises side walls 10, 11 to which are welded sections 16-19 to form box-like longitudinal supports which carry a straw sieve 12 and a grain sieve 13 on their horizontal surfaces 20-23. The transverse support members comprise U-section bars 25-28 which are welded to the side walls 10, 11 and braced by lattice bearers 29, 30. The bottom section 28 is offset in the direction of the blower 15, and the grain sieve 13 is narrower than the straw sieve 12, to facilitate the removal and replacement of the sieves 12, 13. The sieves 12, 13 may be secured in position by means of clips 32, 33 which grip the ends of the sieves and engage an arm of the sections 27, 28. In another embodiment, the transverse support 25-28 may be combined with the bearers 29, 30 to form a lattice girder detachably connected to the side walls. Also, the sieves 12, 13 may be made up of more than one section supported and secured to the transverse supports.
