Abstract

373,373. Harvesting- appliances. DAVIS, C. E., Wick Farm, West Kington, Wiltshire. April 29, 1931, No. 12663. [Class 6 (iii).] A harvesting-appliance comprises sweeping teeth over which hay, corn, or the like passes to a trolley platform attached to a pivoted beam to which the draw-bar is fixed, the ends of the teeth lying on the top of the beam and both trolley and beam being provided with wheels. The beam 4 carrying the teeth 1 is pivoted on axles 10 on which road wheels 3 are freely mounted and which also carry the front of the girder frame 8 of the trolley 2, the latter being supported at the rear by smaller swivel wheels 5. The beam 4 carries at its ends swivel plates 13 to which the tractor draw-bar 12 is adjustably fixed by means of bolts. The draw-bar may comprise unequal members so that the tractor is displaced to one side of the appliance, and may be so bent as to afford clearance for sheaves of corn. Longitudinal iron strips or battens 21 are provided on the platform to facilitate sliding of the crop. Fences 17 are arranged at the sides and rear of the platform 2.
