Abstract

1288256 Die for extruding plastics mesh A W NALLE 9 Oct 1969 [9 April 1969] 49707/69 Heading B5B [Also in Division D1] An inflated plastics mesh apparatus has a die body 10 holding a supply of extrudable plastics material in channel 11. Die plate 15 is rotatable and has a set of extrusion orifices 27 terminating in discharge openings 31 for extruding a first set of filaments. Die plate 17 is stationary and has extrusion orifices 29 terminating in annular discharge openings 37 for extruding hollow filaments. Gas is forced under pressure from supply 43 through channels 45, and 53 to annular openings 37 to inflate the hollow filaments. The die plate 15 may be stationary and the die plate 17 rotated or both die plates may be rotated in opposite directions or in the same direction at different speeds.
