Abstract
1375980 Extrusion dies FARBWERKE HOECHST AG 31 Dec 1971 [2 Jan 1971] 61006/71 Heading B5A Two thermoplastic tubes are extruded in opposite directions from a die head having opposing die orifices fed from a single extruder (not shown) through a conduit 51. The conduit 51 leads into annular chambers 4 connected by holes 33 to die passages 32. The annular die orifices are formed between bushes 12 and mandrels 2 which are attached to a common support member 3 fixed within the easing 1. Air is fed through the passages 6 separately to the interior of each tubular extrudate to inflate or merely support them. Separate temperature is provided for the central portion and the two regions adjacent the extrusion orifices.
