Abstract

1287856 Mounting reels on hubs INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORP 19 April 1971 [29 April 1970] 26430/71 Heading F2U A tape reel hub 11, 45 has an actuator 13, 42 axially movable to move a rigid part 24, 41 to and from a stable over-centre position where it urges a resilient part (e.g. an 0-ring 25) to clamp the bore of a suitable reel placed on the hub, the parts 24, 41 (e.g. three per hub) each being located in a radial aperture in the hub. As shown the actuator 13, 42 has three pins 14 each slidable in a bore in the hub. In Fig. 5 the hub includes further members 40 radially slidable with movement of the actuator to and from a position axially retaining a reel on the hub.
