Abstract
1287509 Sorbitol granules TOWA KASEI KOGYO CO Ltd 16 Dec 1970 [16 Dec 1969] 59787/70 Heading C2C Crystalline sorbitol in granular form is prepared by agitating a mixture of molten sorbitol having a water content below 15% and sorbitol seed sufficient to reduce the water content to below 10%, at between 60‹ C. and 96‹ C., moulding the resultant plastic mass containing plenty of small crystals into vermicelli form, cooling the resultant mouldings and cutting them into predetermined lengths. The Figure shows proportions of temperature and water content giving the required plasticity, the curve B giving preferred proportions.
