Abstract

1287252 Oligomerisation catalysts TORAY INDUSTRIES Inc 19 April 1971 [28 Jan 1970] 21278/71 Heading B1E [Also in Divisions C3 and C5] An oligomerisation catalyst comprises (1) an organo nickle compound R 2 Ni (where R is a hydrocarbyl radical) or a nickle co-ordination complex with 1 to 3 olefinic unsaturated hydrocarbon molecules and (2) a metal compound of one of the formulae R<SP>1</SP>M, R<SP>1</SP>R<SP>2</SP>M, R<SP>1</SP>R<SP>2</SP>R<SP>3</SP>M or R n <SP>4</SP>MX in which R<SP>1</SP> to R<SP>4</SP> are hydrocarbyl and M is Li, Be, Mg, Zn, Cd, Hg, B, Ga, Tn or Tl; X is C1, Br or I and n is 0, 1 or 2. The catalyst may also include as a third component an electron donor compound of N, P, As, Sb or S. Preferred components (2) are organo zinc compounds.
