Abstract

1287184 Diaphragm pumps ROBERT SHAW CONTROLS CO 9 March 1970 [10 March 1969] 11244/70 Heading F1N A diaphragm pump comprises two relatively reciprocable plastics housings 11, 12 interconnected by a diaphragm 13, the second housing 12 being formed from two parts ultrasonically welded together so as to clamp the central region of the diaphragm. Normally the housing 11 is fixed and the housing 12 is reciprocated by a drive member 14 snapped on to the housing 12 and retained by the engagement of a rib 43 on the housing 12 with an annular groove 64 in the member 14. Cavities 51, 38 in the housings each contain a perforated valve disc 55 or 67 controlling flow into the pump chamber 58 through a nipple 15 and flow out of the chamber through a nipple 16.
