Abstract

1286933 Stabilized trichloroethane DIAMOND SHAMROCK CORP 19 April 1971 [22 Jan 1970] 20111/71 Heading C5D [Also in Division C2] 1,1,1 - Trichloroethane is stabilized by a composition comprising (a) a nitroalkane, (b) an epoxy-compound, and (c) propylene glycol monomethyl ether, trioxane or dioxaepane. Compounds specified include nitroalkanes: nitromethane, nitroethane, 1-nitropropane, 2-nitropropane; epoxy-compounds: propylene oxide, butylene oxide, epichlorohydrin and methyl glycidyl ether. The stabilized solvent composition may also include a base, e.g. N-methyl morpholine, di-iso-propylamine or pyrrolidine, a hydrocarbon and tert.-amyl alcohol or methyl butyrol.
