Abstract

1286653 Juice extractors A LAMBERT 23 Sept 1969 [23 Sept 1968] 46817/69 Heading A4C [Also in Division B1] Apparatus for extracting liquid from solid materials, especially juice from fruit comprises at least one set of walls 20 between which are pressed fruit-containing bags 23 in the form of open ended sheaths, each bag and wall being located in a substantially vertical plane and each set of walls and bags being located between a respective fixed frame 19 and a respective movable frame 12 suspended on a carriage 10 movable on substantially horizontal rails 8 above the walls 20. Two sets of perforated walls 20 are preferably provided, a bag 23 being folded over every other wall 20, the open ends being lowermost and each bag having a filling opening 25 on either side of a central reinforcing member 31. The lower ends of the bags are closed for filling via transverse rods (29), Fig.2 (not shown), or via eccentrically rockable shafts (36) connected to straps (35) or loops (35<SP>1</SP>), Figs.3, 4 (not shown). The frames 12 are moved towards frames 19 by superimposed hydraulic cylinders 18, which may be doubleacting to effect the return stroke, or, alternatively, the return stroke may be effected by a winch 17. The walls 20 are suspended by stands and may be locked in position for filling the bags by toothed bars 40.
