Abstract

1286266 Jasmonicacid IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 8 Sept 1969 [22 Oct 1968] 50025/68 Heading C2C Jasmonic acid is prepared by the cultivation of Lasiodiplodia theobromae in a nutrient medium containing an assimilable source of carbon and of nitrogen. The source of carbon may be sucrose, glucose or a polyhydric alcohol such as glycerol or mixtures thereof and the source of nitrogen may be an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal nitrate or an ammonium salt of an inorganic or organic acid, or an amino acid or a seed meal or corn steep liquor, peptone, urea, a yeast extract or a meat extract or mixtures thereof. The jasmonic acid may be isolated by filtration followed by acidification and extraction.
