Abstract

1286204 Cutting tools WICKMAN WIMET Ltd 10 May 1971 [15 May 1970] 23632/70 Heading B3T A cutting tool comprises a shank 10 and a replaceable, preferably indexable, insert 11 locatable in a recess in the shank, a chip-breaker 14 engageable with the top surface of the insert and a pivotable clamping member 15 secured to the shank by a screw 16 which in its clamping position holds the chip breaker and insert in position on the shank. The chip breaker is provided with a projection 17 which engages in a socket 18 in a part 19 secured to the shank whereby when the clamping member 15 is released the chip breaker is pivotable away from the insert about an axis parallel to the top surface of the insert. The insert is secured in abutment with the wall 10a of the recess by a tiltable pin 13 which extends from the base of the recess into a hole in the insert.
