Abstract

1286051 Air deodoriser KIRKMAN LABORATORIES Inc 23 Feb 1971 5190/71 Heading A5G A device for enabling a volatile substance such as a deodorant to be introduced into an air stream comprises a casing made of two interfitting cylindrical parts 16 and 18 each having hollow stems 34 which can be connected into an air-line. Within the casing is a porous body 40 which can be impregnated with a volatile substance and having a central passageway 52 (or 44, see Fig. 5) into which inwardly projecting bosses on the inward ends of the stems may protrude when the device is assembled. The passageway may have a "star"- shaped cross-section, as shown, to allow a greater area of evaporative surface. The porous body may be contained within a thin (e.g. metal) casing 48. The device is particularly applicable to the incorporation of deodorizers or odoriferous substances to the air supplied to a turbine type dental drill.
