Abstract
1285955 Collapsible chairs WILHELM MEYER 22 Aug 1969 [16 Oct 1968] 41955/69 Heading B7B A collapsible chair comprises side frames 10, 11 connected by struts 14, 15 which each have shanks connected to an intermediate member, the intermediate members are pivoted together about a horizontal longitudinal axis 16, and the members each comprise portions relatively twistable about an axis transverse to axis 16. Pivoting about axis 16 allows folding of the chair by moving the side frames together, since the upper shanks are attached to rods 21 slidable in sleeves 20 on the frames. Twisting of the portions and attached shanks allows relative movement of the side frames, each in its own plane. The intermediate members comprise aligned sleeves, springs, or ball joints.
