Abstract

1285684 Weighing-apparatus INSTITUT GORNOI MEKHANIKI I TEKHNICHESKOI KIBERNETIKI IMENI M M FEDOROVA 3 Sept 1970 42150/70 Heading G1W Weighing-apparatus comprises (i) a stationary platform 6 adapted to be incorporated into the structure 4 of an endless belt conveyer 1, 20, (ii) a movable platform 9 adapted (a) to be acted upon by the part of the conveyer 1 and its load 3 defined between rollers 11 on platform 6 and (b) to bear on a load cell 15, and (iii) a measuring unit 18 connected to the load cell and to a pick-up 19 responsive either to linear displacement or speed of the belt 1, 20, the platform 9 having at least one roller 10 supporting the belt 1 between the rollers 11. The platform 6 is supported by legs 7 and connected by strips 8 to the framework 4 of the conveyer. Cantilever leaf springs 12 suspend the platform 9 whose central portion bears through an adjustable screw 13 on a spherical load-bearing portion of the plunger 14 of a hydraulic load cell 15 with a sealed, resilient diaphragm 16. The hydraulic system is pre-stressed to eliminate lost motion and an adjustable throttle 17 damps any fluctuations due to lateral oscillation of the belt 1. The platform 9 may have a pair of rollers one each side of the roller 10, Fig. 2 (not shown) between and adjacent to the rollers 11. The measuring unit 18 may periodically sum the signals from the load cell 15 in accordance with signals responsive to linear displacement or continuously integrate the product of the weight signals and linear speed signals.
