1285168 Liquid level indicators VDO TACHOMETER WERKE ADOLF SCHINDLING GmbH 19 April 1971 [4 March 1970 5 May 1970] 23173/71 Heading G1H In a liquid level detecting apparatus a Gieger- M³ller counting tube 11 is arranged in a recess depending from a chamber 2, containing one or more terminals, and a source of beta radiation, contained in a capsule 15, is arranged in a wall of a parallel recess 18 and the arrangement is such that the liquid surface on rising in the recess 18 cuts off the radiation particles reaching the counter 11. In an alternative embodiment, Fig.3 (not shown), the radiation source is a gas which emits beta radiation particles and a flow discharge lamp in circuit with a resistor and a capacitor is provided on the top of the device and gives a flashing signal when the liquid level falls below a predetermined value.
