Abstract
128,475. Barraclough, A. Sept. 17, 1918. Buffer stops.-Means for arresting cars prior to their delivery into the hoisting cage of a mine comprises a casing 13 to which a friction plate 20 is secured so as to engage the sides of the car. A gate 35 hinged to the casing at 36 may be disposed across the casing to arrest a car if the friction device is ineffective, or a yoke 39 hinged at 40, 41 may be turned down for the same purpose. The gate 35 is held in service position by a tapering pin 37 passed through an eye 38. The casing is constructed with a rectangular framing of rails 11 and a lining 13.
