Abstract
1283904 Cultivating micro-organisms on hydrocarbons ASAHI KASEI KOGYO KK 15 Jan 1970 [30 Jan 1969] 2045/70 Heading C6F In a method for producing micro-organism cells by aerobically culturing hydrocarbon - consuming micro-organisms in a culture medium containing petroleum or a petroleum fraction as the carbon source, a nitrogen source, inorganic salts and organic nutrients, and separating the microorganism cells from the culture broth, at least one C 1 - C 5 carboxylic acid (or salt thereof) is included in the culture medium. The carboxylic acid (or salt) be added in the period from the preparation of the culture medium to the beginning of logarithmic increase of the micro-organisms, at a concentration in the range 0.04 - 0À30% (w/v). Acetic, lactic, propionic and tartaric acids, the corresponding sodium salts and ammonium acetate are particularly mentioned.
