Abstract
1300455 Dicarboxylic acids AJINOMOTO CO Inc 10 Nov 1970 [10 Nov 1969] 53505/70 Heading C2C A C 12 -C 18 dicarboxylic acid is prepared from a saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon or an oxidized derivative thereof, the starting material having a straight chain of 12-18 carbon atoms, by culturing under aerobic conditions a microorganic strain of Candida or Pichia capable of producing the acid from the starting material, on or in a culture medium containing an assimilable N source, inorganic salts, organic nutrients and the starting material. A C 5-18 dicarboxylic acid may be produced from a starting material having a straight chain of 9-18 carbon atoms using a strain of species Candida cloacae.
