Abstract
1283686 Valves ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 11 Feb 1970 [27 March 1969] 6475/70 Headings F2F and F2V A valve member 5 is axially movable in a cylinder 7 and carries a deformable sealing member 1 with a lip 9 which in the position shown isolates a chamber 2 on one side of the sealing member from a double annular chamber 3 on the other side. This double chamber is defined on the radially outer and inner sides of a second axially movable valve member 10 constituted by an annular intermediate part. In the position shown, the valve member 10 engages the sealing member 1 to isolate the inner and outer portions of chamber 3. In a leftward position of valve member 10, the two parts of chamber 3 are in communication with each other and in a rightward position the part 10 moves the lip 9 away from the bore to establish communication between chamber 2 and the outer portion of chamber 3. The sealing member is provided with a radially outwardly acting spring ring 14 and a garter spring 16 and is fixed on the valve member 5 by a sleeve 17. In modifications, the seal is moulded round a flanged retaining sleeve, Figs. 2 to 4 (not shown). Brake booster and actuator.-The cylinder 7 is fixed to the booster casing 38, Fig. 6 (not shown). Intermediate part 10 extends through and is fixed to the booster piston 36, so that the two portions of double chamber 3 are in communication respectively with opposite sides of the piston. Chamber 2 communicates with atmosphere. The inner valve member 5 is carried by an actuating rod 44.
