1283300 Shaft systems ROLLS ROYCE Ltd 11 Dec 1970 58858/70 Heading F2U A shaft system between a power source and a rotor (e.g. the turbine and compressor 18, 19, 34 of a ducted-fan gas-turbine motor) comprises a first part 20, 21 including a shaft 20 for transmitting torque from the source to the rotor (e.g. via bolts 28) and a second part 22 encircling the shaft and connected to the rotor but only transmitting drive (e.g. via splines 29 and/or 32, 33) to the rotor upon loss of power via the first part.
