The resulting catalytic composition may be used for the oxidation of alcohols. Part of the MoO 3 and/or Fe 2 O 3 may be replaced by oxides of Sc, Y, rare earths, U, V, Cr, W, Mn, Co or Ni. Fillers such as Al 2 O 3 , SiO 2 , SiO 2 -Al 2 O 3 , glass or SiC may be added.
