Abstract

1282325 Pipe joints; end caps GUSTAVSBERGS FABRIKER AB 27 Aug 1969 42616/69 Headings F2G and F2P [Also in Divisions E1 and E2] Two or more nearly identical plumbing installations are assembled from a corresponding number of identical sets of pipes; the 3-7 of each set are arranged in their intended positions (e.g. for connecting the drainage outlets of a bath, hand basin and W.C. of one of a number of nearly identical bathroom layouts to a drain pipe 1 serving a number of such bathrooms); adjacent pipe ends are then connected by resilient sleeves 21, the pipes then being manipulated to accommodate any minor dimensional inaccuracies of the respective layout; finally band clamps 23 are tightened around the sleeves. Pipes 4 and 6 are in the form of T-pieces. An internal flange (not shown) may be provided at a distance from the free upper end of each T-piece to form an abutment for the lower end of the drainage outlet from the associated fixture, a sealing mixture then being introduced at this joint. An end cap (not shown) for the far end of the last pipe in a branch is cup-shaped, has an outer diameter equal to that of the last pipe and is secured thereto by a clamp.
