Abstract

1282116 Rhenium recovery MITSUBISHI PETROCHEMICAL CO Ltd 20 Aug 1969 [20 Aug 1968] 41588/69 Heading C1A Rhenium is recovered as the oxide, from solids containing rhenium and nickel there being more Ni present than Re by heating in an inert gas containing molecular oxygen at temperatures of 600-1000‹ C. to oxidize the solids and to vaporize the rhenium oxide thus formed. Air may be used as oxidant. The resulting oxide vapour may be condensed, or absorbed in H 2 O or aqueous NH 3 .
