1281926 Coin-freed locks SCHLOSSFABRIK SCHULTE-SCHLAGBAUM AG 1 Aug 1969 [19 April 1969] 38777/69 Heading G4V A coin-freed lock includes a bolt adapted to support an inserted coin, a latch co-operating with the bolt to prevent movement thereof in the absence of a coin but moved aside by a coin to free the bolt, a stepped plate co-operating with the latch in the presence of an oversized coin to prevent movement of the bolt, and a coin-return mechanism. The bolt 16 has a recess 20 with which a spring-loaded latch 17 co-operates to prevent throwing of the bolt by a key-operated barrel lock in the absence of a coin 28. An inserted coin is supported by a fixed stop 27 and a stop 29, on a plate 30 carried from the bolt by a leaf spring B. In operation, the stop 29 moves the cam forwardly with the bolt to lift the latch 17. On clearing the fixed stop 27, the coin falls on to an abutment 9 and is held there by a plate 36 movable with the bolt. The key may be removed from the barrel lock in the extended position of the bolt. On retracting the bolt, the coin falls from abutment 9 into a cash box or is returned to the user.
